Canadian pop star Justin Bieber faces charges of assault and dangerous driving after a collision involving a minivan and an ATV in south-western Ontario.
According to reports, provincial police say the collision occurred last Friday afternoon (August 29).
"The driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation," states a Canadian police news release.
20-year-old Bieber has been released on a promise to appear and is due in a Stratford court on September 29.
Bieber has recently faced numerous legal issues on both sides of the Canadian border with the USA.
In January he was charged with assault in Toronto in connection with an incident involving a limo driver. He turned himself in at a police station in downtown Toronto.
In July, Bieber pleaded no contest to vandalism and had to pay compensation to a neighbour whose house was egged in Calabasas, California. He was sentenced to two years probation.
Last month, a case was resolved in Florida, where Bieber had initially been accused of street racing. He pleaded guilty to lesser charges and was required to take an anger management course, make a charitable contribution and pay court fees.
