Radiohead's Phil Selway has said now feels like the right time for the band to start making new music.

The drummer told NME that the group will soon go ahead with the recording of their ninth studio album.

"We are starting again in about a month's time, "Selway said. "We've decided that now feels right to start making music and we've got the first week booked in together so we'll see how it goes."

As for how the new record might sound, he admitted: "I have absolutely no idea... And that's what keeps us all there until the end."

Radiohead recently updated their Poly Fauna app with snippets of new music and visuals, leading to speculation about the status of their new album.

Earlier this year, Jonny Greenwood confirmed that the group would begin work this month on the follow-up to 2011 album The King Of Limbs.
