Charlie Hunnam has been linked to a remake of the 1981 sci-fi action film Escape from New York.
The Sons of Anarchy star is rumoured to be the top choice to play leading character Snake Plissken, who was originally portrayed by Kurt Russell.
A source told website Starlog that Hunnam is the "top contender" for the role, alongside The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal and The Guest star Dan Stevens.
However, the actor may be unavailable due to commitments filming the Pacific Rim sequel.
It has been reported that the Escape from New York remake will be "more team based" as "Snake Plissken traverses through a treacherous New York landscape with a rogues' gallery of criminals who look to leave the island-turned-prison in exchange for the rescue of the captured U.S. President."
