Robin Williams' ashes were scattered off the coast of Marin County, Califiornia at the same location where his mother's remains were scattered.

The late actor's mother, Laurie, died in the summer of 2001 from natural causes, aged 78.

Her death certificate, obtained by the New York Daily News, declares that she was cremated by the Neptune Society with her request: "scatter at sea off Marin County coast."

Williams' publicist has said that the actor was very close to his mother and was reportedly the executor of her estate.

Williams often spoke of Laurie's wild fashion sense in interviews and admitted that she worked the red carpet at the 1998 Academy Awards, the year he won Best Supporting Actor statue for Good Will Hunting, better than he did.

The Daily News also obtained the death certificate for the actor, confirming he was cremated August 12, the day after he was found dead at home.
