Ridley Scott’s epic 2000 film - which won five Academy Awards - will be screened live in HD on a 40-foot screen, while the RTÉ Concert Orchestra orchestra, a chorus and individual singers bring Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard’s score to life on stage.

Gladiator stars Russell Crowe, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius. Betrayed by the emperor’s ambitious son, Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), who oversees the brutal and heart-breaking murder of his wife and son, Maximus is reduced to slavery. What follows is the story of the slave who became a gladiator and the gladiator who defied an emperor.
Composer Hans Zimmer also composed the music to Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, Mission: Impossible II, Pearl Harbor, The Last Samurai and Inception.
