Supermodel Cara Delevingne is reportedly in talks to star in the upcoming Zoolander sequel.

The 22-year-old model is reportedly in negotiations with the movie's star Ben Stiller to be cast in the lead role in the forthcoming Zoolander sequel which is due to go into production before the end of the year.

A movie insider told The Sun newspaper: ''Ben and producers want a big-name model for the film and they need to be jokers and full of natural comedy.

''They've been closely following Cara and her antics during the past couple of years.

''They are still working out what the exact role will be but it's likely to include a lot of goofing around.''

This won't be Delvingne's first foray into the acting world, she is currently filming her part as a mermaid in Jo Wright's Pan and she had supporting roles in Anna Karenina and Kids In Love.

The source added ''Everything Cara's done has been super serious and worthy but her agents think it's time she spread her wings.

''It could be the role to make her name in the US.

''Initial meetings have taken place with the agents but now Ben wants to meet Cara and work out if their chemistry is good.''
