Tom Hanks is set to return as Professor Robert Langdon in the much-anticipated big-screen adaption of Dan Brown's best-selling novel Inferno.

Inferno is the third of Dan Brown's hugely popular books that is to be turned into a movie, following on from The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.

Like it's predecessors Inferno will star Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks as Professor Robert Langdon and will be directed by one of Hollywood's most revered directors, Ron Howard.

The script for the eagerly-awaited flick is currently being penned by renowned screenwriter David Koepp, and it has been confirmed that filming will begin next April in Italy.
