The movie adaptation of Gone Girl will have a totally different ending to the book, and director David Fincher has discussed how it will change the story.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly Fincher said when asked how much of the story had been changed, "Everything and nothing. You're not changing the marrow of the creature. You're just changing the bone structure and the muscles and the skin. And the hair.

"It's all of its outer sheathing. But at its core, it's exactly what I think Gillian [Flynn, author] always intended."

Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike and is set to hit cinemas in October.
