Rita Ora has confirmed that Calvin Harris blocked her from performing at the Teen Choice Awards in America this past weekend.

The singer was due to perform her hit I Will Never Let You Down, but because her ex-boyfriend Harris is the sole writer and producer on the track, he has to sign off the rights to give permission for a televised performance.

Asked by Ryan Seacrest if the decision surprised her, Ora replied: "No. No, no, no."

She added: "We put a lot of effort and work into the show. Every time we do a show, I rehearse about a month in advance, and, y'know . . . I could have got told a few weeks earlier! That would have been nice.

"It was a last minute change, but do you know what? We move on and we move forward."
