Michael Bay has confirmed that he will exit Transformers, after directing four films in the hugely-successful franchise.
The director bows out following the latest Transformers instalment, Transformers: Age of Extinction.
He told USA Today: "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make.
"I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."
The recent film has already grossed $1 billion worldwide, and is currently the 9th highest grossing movie of all time.
Transformers 5 is likely to go into production in 2015.
