The Saturdays have announced they are planning to release a new studio album.

The girl group - Una Foden, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White - released Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits album this week and head out on tour in September.

This seemed to signal the band's farewell but during an interview on ITV's This Morning earlier today (Aug 11) it was made clear that a new material is on the way.

When quizzed by the show's host Ruth Langsford about the split rumours, Molly King replied: "Afraid not guys, we're still plugging at it, we are!"

Una Foden added: "We're actually doing another album - we've got another coming out after the Greatest Hits, so it's definitely not the last, we've got plenty more to come."

The Saturdays also admitted that they find the trend of fans recording concerts on their smartphones as rather odd.

Frankie Sandford said: "I wonder, 'Are you actually watching the show?' It feels really strange to perform to that now."

Una Foden then added: "There is always a camera around on mobile phones and everything. You look down and there's literally everyone's phones in the air - so if you make a mistake, someone's got it!"
