Elisabeth Moss has admitted that her final days on the set of Mad Men felt like a "funeral".

The cast of the US period drama recently wrapped filming on its final episode - an experience that reduced Moss, and many of her co-stars, to tears.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, she said: "The last three days were kind of like a funeral. It was just everybody crying all day long - these big, giant men bursting into tears."

She added that Jon Hamm did not cry during the final days "because he was working a lot".

"I'm not going to call people out specifically who cried, but there were definitely some criers, including me," she admitted.

Moss has recently been linked with one of the leading roles in HBO crime drama True Detective, but nothing has been confirmed.

The remaining seven episodes of Mad Men's final season will be broadcast in 2015.
