The RTÉ Concert Orchestra perform Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Overture, Korngold’s Violin Concerto , Mussorgsky/Ravel’s Pictures at an Exhibition at the National Concert Hall on Friday night next, August 8, at 8.00pm.

Conductor John Wilson’s essential Classics series journeys through the best and most famous of the popular pieces in the classical canon and Friday night's concert presents three great choices. Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition has one of the most majestic endings imaginable, powerful, packing enormous punch.

The romantic lyricism of Korngold’s Violin Concerto will be brought to life by Andrew Haveron, one of the most sought after violinists in the UK.

Fittingly, this splendid summer night’s entertainment opens with the Overture to Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
