Freddie Prinze Jr has spoken out about his experience working on 24, saying he "hated every moment".

The actor, who played the character Cole Ortiz in the show's eighth season, said working on the show was "terrible" and claimed that lead star Kiefer Sutherland was "unprofessional".

He told ABC News at San Diego Comic-Con: "I did 24, it was terrible. I hated every moment of it. I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.

"Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That's not me talking trash; I'd say it to his face. I think everyone that's worked with him has said that."

The actor said that he had to take his shoes off to film scenes with Sutherland, because he was taller than him.

He added: "Just put the guy on an apple box or don't hire me next time. You know, I'm six feet and he's 5' 4"."

Sutherland responded to Prinze's comments in a statement released through his representative, which read: "Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze Jr more than five-years-ago and this is the first he has heard of Freddie's grievances.

"Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best."

24's revival, 24: Live Another Day, recently concluded on Fox and Sky.
