Johnny Depp takes to the high seas again in yet another Pirates of the Caribbean movie to be released on July 7, 2017.

It's a three full years to go but Captain Jack Sparrow will return to the big screen in a summer that includes strong blockbuster competition from Despicable Me 3 on June 30, Fantastic Four 2 on July 14, and `an unknown Marvel movie' on July 28.

Pirates of The Caribbean 5 was originally scheduled for release in 2015, but was pushed back due to script and budget concerns.

Jerry Bruckheimer will return to produce the film with Kon-Tiki duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg handling directing duties. The script is by Catch Me If You Can writer Jeff Nathanson.

The Pirates of the Caribbean movie series has earned more than $3.7 billion at the worldwide box office since it began in 2003.
