Kylie Minogue has described her remission from cancer as "a miracle".
In an in-depth interview with 60 Minutes Australia, the popstar emotionally spoke about her 2005 breast cancer diagnosis.
She recalled: "Someone said to me at the time, 'Be a little bit selfish', but it's not in my nature to be selfish, but now was the time to do that, to let people take care of you and that's what I did.
"I learned many things. I know I have strength but when you are fighting something where there are a lot of unknowns there's a mixture of emotions.
"It takes years to get the all-clear so by the time my hair started growing back it was very exciting; it was like a miracle."
The 46-year-old also spoke about her two-year relationship with rock singer Michael Hutchence, who died in 1997.
"He had this all-encompassing love of life," she said, "and if you have such a strong love and they are not there, it's different to when you have a strong love and the possibility of seeing them again to talk and share experiences with.
"I miss him just as much as anyone who was fortunate enough to spend time with him."
