African Pride, a new documentary filmed, directed and produced by RTÉ News journalist Laura Fletcher about the fight against homophobia in South Africa, is to screen at the Galway Film Fleadh this Thursday, July 10.

Fletcher's directorial debut will compete for Best Human Rights Documentary at the festival, which runs from July 8 to 13.

She said: "African Pride is a South African story which deals with issues that resonate across the globe. It's the story of discrimination, resilience, love and loss."

African Pride screens at the Cinemobile in Galway on Thursday July 10 at 2:00pm.
