Recently retired Newsnight presenter Jeremy Paxman will take part in a special edition of RTÉ Radio One arts show Arena as part of this year's Hay Festival Kells which starts today in the Meath village.
Paxman will join host Sean Rocks and Gillian Clarke, the National Poet of Wales, who will celebrate the centenary of the birth of Dylan Thomas this Friday.
The former Newsnight presenter will also deliver a talk on Britain and The Great War. Other guests at this year's event include Benjamin Black, aka John Banville, Joseph O'Connor, The Spinning Heart author Donal Ryan and Jung Chang, author of Wild Swans.
Hay Festival Kells begins today and runs until Sunday, July 6.
