One Direction's representative has denied rumours that Harry Styles is poised to quit the boyband to launch a solo career.

Yesterday (July 1), speculation began to mount that Harry was working on his own album when it was revealed that he worked with Irish band Kodaline in the studio.

The band's frontman Steve Garrigan told Digital Spy: "He just turned up to a show, and he likes our music. We had a bit of free time and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun. (The track) could be on his album if he does something, but I don't know. Nothing is set in stone."

However, a publicist for One Direction has since denied that Styles is leaving the band.

They explained to E! News: "There are no plans for Harry to release any solo music at this time, any writing that he is doing is for potential One Direction songs. It's common knowledge that the boys write separately and bring to each other for the album."
