Upcoming British comedy film Pride has released its first trailer and it features former Wire star Dominic West showing off his dancing skills.

The film tells the true story about a group of lesbian and gay activists who join forces with a small mining community in Wales in 1984.

As the National Union of Mineworkers go on strike, the activists decide to raise money to support the families affected, but the union will not accept their offerings.

The fundraisers decide to go straight to the miners and strike up an unlikely partnership as both sides fight for the same cause.

The ensemble cast includes Dominic West, Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Dubliner Andrew Scott and Paddy Considine.

West will sing in the film and has previously said he plays “a gay guy who sings I Will Survive in front of a group of Welsh mine workers”.

Pride is due to be released on September 12.
