Rapper 50 Cent has joined the cast of forthcoming boxing movie Southpaw and will star Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong'o and Rachel McAdams.
The movie centres on a boxer who struggles to improve his career as he battles with substance abuse.
The New York Post reports that 50, real name Curtis James Jackson III, will play a promoter who is part of Gyllenhaal's central character's entourage.
50 has already begun filming under director Antoine Fuqua in Pittsburgh.
