Kevin Bacon has been cast in Johnny Depp's upcoming crime drama Black Mass.
Depp will play notorious mobster Whitey Bulger, who went on the run after 20 years as an FBI informer.
According to Deadline, Bacon will play FBI Special Agent Charles McGuire in director Scott Cooper's movie.
McGuire was in charge of the Boston field office and boss of FBI agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton), who worked closely with Bulger during the mobster's rise in the Boson crime world.
The starry cast for the drama also includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemons, Sienna Miller, Dakota Johnson, Rory Cochran, Julianne Nicholson, and Adam Scott.
Black Mass is currently being shot in Boston and is expected to be released next year.
