Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss has joined the cast of High-Rise, the upcoming drama based on J.G. Ballard's novel which begins shooting in Belfast next month.

Welsh actor Luke Evans has also just been announced for the all-star cast, which includes Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Miller and Jeremy Irons.

Director Ben Wheatley (Doctor Who, Kill List) is helming the project. He said of the casting news: "Elizabeth Moss and Luke Evans are great additions to our cast. I'm really excited to be working with both of them.

"I'm looking forward to see what they will bring to the complex relationship between Richard and Helen Wilder."

The film is about a new residential tower built on the eve of Margaret Thatcher's rise to power, at the site of what will soon become the world's financial hub.

The luxurious tower, designed by visionary architect Anthony Royal (Irons), is meant as a solution to the city's problems but is a world apart in reality.

Discontent soon develops among the tower's residents and they begin to break into tribal factions.
