Emilia Clarke has been cast in the indie psychological thriller Voice from the Stone.

The actress, best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones, takes the lead role in the upcoming film, which is based on the Italian novel La Voce Della Petra by Silvio Raffo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Voice from the Stone is set in 1950s Tuscany, and centres on a nurse (Clarke) who is helping a young boy through the trauma of his mother's sudden death. However, she becomes ensnared by an evil force inside the family's castle.

Eric D. Howell will make his feature directorial debut with the film, which is scheduled to being shooting in November in Italy.
