Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed there is a storyline for a third Sex and the City movie.

The 49-year-old actress and producer shared the news fans have been waiting to hear today (June 16) at the Cannes Lion in France, that there is a plot for a third Sex and the City movie.

However she did warn that it doesn't mean that the film will ever be made.

Parker, who was in conversation with Cosmopolitan Editor In Chief Joanna Coles, said: "We’ve never really had real conversation about it, other than that I know there is a story.

"I think it’s a really lovely, wonderful story but whether or not we tell it remains to be seen."

In 2008, Parker, who played fashionista Carrie Bradshaw, joined with the other lead actresses from the HBO TV Series, Kim Cattrall (as Samantha Jones), Kristin Davis (as Charlotte York), and Cynthia Nixon (as Miranda Hobbes), to star in a big-screen version of the ground-breaking programme.

A sequel, which was set in Abu Dhabi, followed two years later.

Do you think they should make Sex and the City 3?
