The Cinemagic Dublin programme will take place 7 – 13 June with public screenings, The Talent Lab, also open to the public, and an extensive in-schools programme. 

This coming weekend children ages 8-11 will have a chance to question and get top tips from a number of industry professionals from the worlds of TV and film and radio as part of the Cinemagic Film and Television Festival for Young People (under 12s). 

One always popular element of the programme is the Junior Talent lab where children ages 8-11 have the chance to meet industry professionals, to ask them questions about their field and to get top tips about working in the industry. Priced at €10 per participant they will include:  

  • TV Presenting with RTE Elev8’s Diana Bunici (Sat 7 June – filmbase)
  • The Last Broadcast! Radio Presenting and Production with Mairead Campbell, from Cool FM (Sat 7 June – filmbase) 
  • Special effects make-up in film with artists from MFK institute who will teach participants the basic skills and techniques of make-up artistry (Sat 7 June – filmbase).  

Cinemagic runs various events throughout the year children and young people of different ages. The events all aim to inspire, educate and entertain young people and further their knowledge of the world of Film and TV.  For the full June programme for under 12s see     

A series of public film screenings will also be held. These family films will be screened at Cineworld on 7 and 8 June and will be a chance to enjoy fantastic kids films on the big screen. They will include ‘The Legend of Sarila 3D’, ‘Anina’, ‘A Cat in Paris’ and ‘The Boy and the World’.
