Star Wars fans are in for a treat as Carrie Fisher is among Brendan O’Connor’s guests on this week’s Saturday Night Show on RTÉ One.

Fisher - or Princess Leia if you prefer - will take to the couch to talk about growing up as Hollywood royalty, and why she’s returning to the Star Wars’ role that defined her career.

Brendan O’Connor will also be joined by Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton to talk about why she wants to be leader of The Labour Party.

Keeping things topical, there’s a look back over the political week that was with comedian and impressionist Oliver Callan, as he offers his unique take on the election’s winners and losers.

Style aficionado Darren Kennedy will be on hand to talk everything fashion and to reveal his makeover of rugby pundit George Hook, athlete Marion Heffernan and broadcaster Brenda Donohue.

And there’s music from Chanele McGuinness, overall winner of the music competition which The Saturday Night Show has been running in conjunction with The John Murray Show on RTÉ Radio One.

Chanele hails from Ballyshannon in Donegal and emerged as the overall winner out of 550 strong entries.  She will make her TV debut on Saturday night with her song Numb.

The Saturday Night Show is at 9.50pm on RTÉ One on Saturday, May 31.
