Mariah Carey held up the World Music Awards by over an hour last night.
The star was the opening act of the show and was reportedly late taking to the stage.
The songstress opened the show in Monaco with the performance of her new song Meteorite before picking up the award for Pop Icon. However, her lateness on stage prompted the show's organisers to push the evening's schedule back.
Miley Cyrus joked about the singer's tardiness, saying in her acceptance speech for an award, "Thank God! I thought this party was never going to get started!"
Cyrus closed the show with her chart-topping hit Wrecking Ball, while other performers included Jason Derulo, Fall Out Boy, Flo Rida and Tinie Tempah.
