Former Coronation Street and EastEnders stars are among the contestants set to face a grilling from judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode in the new series of BBC's Celebrity MasterChef.

Tina Hobley, who played Samantha Failsworth in Coronation Street; and Ken Morley, who played Reg Holdsworth in the ITV soap; have signed up for the show.

Also competing will be former EastEnders stars Alex Ferns, who played Trevor Morgan; Emma Barton, who played Honey Mitchell; and Todd Carty, who played Mark Fowler.

Completing the line-up are: actors Leslie Ash, Amanda Burton, Jason Connery and Sophie Thompson; TV presenters Christopher Biggins, Tania Bryer, Susannah Constantine and Alison Hammond; adventurer Charley Boorman; singer Kiki Dee; former JLS star JB Gill; astrologer Russell Grant; model Jodie Kidd; Made in Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh and dancer Wayne Sleep.

The show's executive producer, Carla-Maria Lawson, said: "This year's series promises some real surprises as our celebrity hopefuls swap stage, screen and catwalk for the kitchen. 

"Be prepared to see a very different side to some well-known faces as the competition heats up."
