As the excitement builds for One Direction's Dublin invasion this weekend, Niall Horan has tweeted that he is looking forward to the "best weekend of his life."

The biggest boy band on the planet are set to take over Croke Park this weekend, with three sold out gigs at the stadium on May 23, 24 and 25. 

Mullingar native 20-year-old Niall Horan will take to the stage alongside his fellow popstar bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. 

Niall took to twitter last night to share his excitement for the upcoming gigs, which mark the beginning of the European leg of their Where We Are tour. He wrote: "Lyin in bed ! Thinkin! this weekend is gona be hands down the best weekend of my life! #crokepark”

Promoters MCD have warned strict restrictions will be in place and children under the age of 14 who have purchased pitch tickets will be turned away from the gig. 

They also warned fans under the age of 16 that they can only attend the concert if they are accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Concert-goers are being urged to walk to the stadium or to use public transport. Dublin Bus have a number of routes that run to Croke Park, Ianród Éireann are bringing in extra trains to Drumcondra station, Bus Éireann will have extra buses on and Luas will keep a frequent schedule.
