Documentaries on Michael Jackson's Irish driver, Eric Bell of The Chieftains, and JFK are among 27 nominations for RTÉ Radio at this year's New York Festivals, which celebrates the best of international radio.

The nods are for programmes made and broadcast by RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ lyric fm and Independent production companies. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in New York on June 23.

"RTÉ Radio is honoured to have received so many nominations in categories across the board at the NYC Festivals," says Lorelei Harris, Editor of RTÉ Radio, Arts, Drama and Factual.

"It points, once again, to the commitment of our producers and the high standard of quality in radio broadcasting to which we aspire to at all times.’
