Ship of Fools, a US short executive produced by John Goodwin from Ballina, Co Mayo, is among the films screening in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival, which opens today, Wednesday May 14.
A former director for Cirque du Soleil Tours, Goodwin makes his film production debut with Ship of Fools, which is also among the award nominees at this week's St Tropez International Film Festival.
Directed by Mike McGuirk and soundtracked by Tony Perry and Brendan McGuirk from the band Stranded, Ship of Fools tells the story of a legendary photographer who "reveals the truth behind his most iconic photograph while recalling Stranded, the greatest rock and roll band never known".
