Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Vivienne makes her big screen debut with her mum in Maleficent this month but Jolie has said they found the experience very stressful.

Having previously said Vivienne was the only person that could play the young Princess Aurora in the Sleeping Beauty re-make because she was not afraid of Jolie in costume, the mother of six has now said she would prefer if her children pursued other career paths.

Speaking to Elle magazine Jolie said, "Brad and I made the decision that we wouldn't keep them from sets and the fun of making movies, but we wouldn't [glorify it either] – we wouldn't make it a good thing or a bad thing. But I would really prefer they do something else."

On working with Vivienne she said, "After two days of it, Brad and I were so stressed we never wanted to do it again."

Maleficent is set for release on May 28.
