Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are said to be in talks to star in a film together.

The project would mark the first time the Hollywood power couple have teamed up since meeting on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2005.

According to Deadline, the movie will be based on an original script from Jolie, who previously wrote the 2011 war drama In the Land of Blood and Honey.

The new project has not yet secured a distribution deal.

Jolie can next be seen in Maleficent, which is released in cinemas at the end of the month.

She is currently working on post-production on Unbroken, the adaptation she directed of the Laura Hillenbrand book about Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by Japanese forces during World War II.

Pitt most recently wrapped filming on the David Ayer-directed WWII movie Fury.
