New Girl star Max Greenfield has been cast in writer-director Michael Showalter's new comedy drama Hello My Name is Doris.
He will play a character who begins a romance with an older woman.
Greenfield told The Wrap: "It's a story about Doris, this character, she's an older woman.
"Her mother passes away and she's then forced to kind of find a new life in the city, and she meets this younger guy and thinks that he's the answer."
The part of the older woman has yet to be cast.
The 33-year-old actor received a Golden Globe nomination this year for his role as charming womaniser Schmidt in New Girl.
Hello My Name is Doris will see him reunite with writer-director Showalter, who he previously worked with on They Came Together.
