Johnny Vegas will be in conversation with actress Pauline McLynn at the National Concert Hall on Sunday May 25, as part of this year's Dublin Writers Festival.

Following a sold-out debut last year, the Festival welcomes back Faber Socials, a laid-back mix of book launch, nightclub and gig run by the publishing house at Dublin venue The Button Factory,

Among the attendees will be Viv Albertine, guitarist with punk band The Slits, and Bob Stanley, dj, songwriter and keyboardist with St Etienne, who will talk to journalist Jim Carroll about Yeah Yeah Yeah, his book of essays on pop music.

With cycling about to sweep the nation with the arrival of the Giro d’Italia in May, the Dublin Writers Festival will also gather three acclaimed writers  - and cycling fanatics - to examine the sport's phenomenal rise.

The Dublin Writers Festival runs from May 19 to 25,
