Aoibhín Garrihy will show her support for Irish fashion at this Saturday's (April 5) IFTAs in a bespoke creation by a top Irish designer.

The former Fair City star has chosen Irish designer Sean Byrne to create a specially made gown for the annual event.

Byrne was named Irish Designer of the Year in 2009 and has dressed many well known faces for the red carpet, including Irish actress Sarah Greene and Irish make-up artist Lynn Johnston for the 2012 Oscars.

He gave the lowdown on Garrihy's IFTAs look, saying: “Aoibhín is wearing a blush silk jersey dress with a draped neckline that cascades down back of dress.

"It is a Grecian look inspired by the film Caligula. Aoibhín was a dream to work with, she has talent and grace and she will look absolutely stunning on the night."

Byrne's collections are all handmade in Dublin and are available exclusively from his studio at Sean Byrne Couture, 27 Drury St, Dublin 2.
