Showtime has renewed Edie Falco’s Nurse Jackie for a seventh season.
The medical comedy drama features the former Sopranos’ star as a New York-based hospital nurse battling drug addiction and trying to keep her life on track while also meeting the demands of her job.
The renewal comes after a successful season five and ahead of the show's upcoming sixth run, which is due to start Stateside on Showtime on April 13.
Last year, Nurse Jackie co-star Merritt Weaver made headlines when she skipped her Emmy acceptance speech after winning a Best Supporting Actress award for her role as idiosyncratic student nurse, Zoey.
Nurse Jackie season five continues on Tuesdays on RTÉ Two.
