Kristen Bell may get yet another opportunity to play Veronica Mars

The film version of cult US TV show Veronica Mars was released last Friday and already there’s talk of a cinematic sequel.

Rob Thomas, creator of the original series and writer-director of the movie, told Radio Times that he wants a follow-up to the new fan-funded film.

"The amount of fervour [surrounding this film] was surprising to me," Thomas admitted. "Hopefully there will be more."

The Veronica Mars movie sees Kristen Bell - currently starring alongside Don Cheadle in Showtime's House of Lies - reprise the title role as the slueth for the first time since the TV show was cancelled in 2007.

"I think as long as Kristen wants to do it, I'll keep wanting to make them," Thomas confirmed.
