One of the most dramatic and dysfunctional mother-son relationships in soap history is set to come to an end in EastEnders later this month, as Dot (June Brown) says goodbye to her late villainous son Nick.

The heart-rending scenes will air on BBC One and RTÉ One from March 25.

However, Nick's demise leads to an unexpected arrival on Dot's doorstep: Charlie Cotton (Declan Bennett), Nick's eldest son and the grandson Dot did not even know existed.
