Mischa Barton has been cast in the crime thriller Hope Lost.
The former OC actress will star alongside Danny Trejo (Machete Kills) in the film which is set in the world of sex trafficking.
Italian director David Petrucci will helm the movie which is scheduled to begin shooting in Rome later this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sin City star Michael Madsen and Daniel Baldwin (Vampires) have also signed on for roles in the thriller.
Barton will play a young Romanian girl who is bored of small town life. She travels to Italy on the promise of appearing in a reality TV show, but is sold to a pimp (Madsen) when she arrives.
