Musicians Pharrell Williams and will.i.am have settled their trademark dispute with an out of court arrangement.
The Black Eyed Peas star and Voice UK coach sent a cease and desist letter to Pharrell last year after he tried to trademark his company name I Am Other.
will.i.am reckoned it was too similar to his i.am+ product branding and believed that consumers would become confused as both acts were signed to the same record label and have similar musical styles.
Pharrell refuted the claim and stated that will.i.am does not own the I Am prefix, and that the way he uses it has a completely different meaning to will.i.am.
will.i.am countered the argument once again claiming Pharrell has no respect to intellectual property, citing his involvement in the recently-settled Blurred Lines plagiarism case with Marvin Gaye's family and the fact his record label is called Star Trak Entertainment as examples.
However, Digital Spy reports that both will.i.am and Pharrell have now agreed to settle the case out of court, but have kept the terms private.
