Mrs Brown's Boys creator and star Brendan O'Carroll is among the nominees for this year's Royal Television Society Awards in the UK, with the Cillian Murphy-starring Peaky Blinders also nominated.

O'Carroll is shortlisted in the Best Comedy Performance category alongside Rebecca Front for Psychobitches and Ryan Sampson for PLEBS.

Peaky Blinders is nominated for Best Drama Series, with My Mad Fat Diary and Utopia completing the shortlist.

Other nominees across the various categories include Casualty, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Broadchurch, Game of Thrones, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Pointless and actors Olivia Colman and Idris Elba.

The winners will be announced on Tuesday March 18.
