Former Westlife star Kian Egan thought his professional music career was over when the boyband split.
The band went their separate ways in 2012 and Kian took up a seat on The Voice of Ireland as a judge but it wasn't until he won I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! that the prospect of returning to music professionally became a possibility.
The star told Wenn, "Music has come around since going on I'm A Celebrity. Even with Westlife, I thought for me that music was probably done in a serious sense.
"I wasn't actively searching for a record deal. Then when I came out of the jungle I got approached by Warner Brothers and after a bit of talking with my lovely wife I thought, 'Let's do it'. It wasn't something I had planned, it just came around."
Egan's debut solo album, entitled Home, is set for release later this month.
