One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson made his professional football debut last night for Doncaster in a nil all draw.

Tomlinson was playing for Doncaster Rovers reserves in a match against Rotherham in front of 5,000 fans.

He came on with just 15 minutes left to play last night in front of some fans who had travelled from as far away as Mexico and the US. A fan of the club, Tomlinson had signed a deal with them last year in support of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Tweeting after the game he said "Wow what an incredible experience . Can't put into words how I feel :) I will never forget pulling on my own Doncaster Rovers shirt!!

"Really can't thank the team, the gaffer and every single person involved at Doncaster Rovers enough ! I feel like a 10 year old again!

"And obviously a huge huge thank you to everyone who came down :) a real credit to our fans :) hope it was a good day out!"
