Wil Johnson, who plays single-father Dom Andrews on Emmerdale, has announced his decision to leave the soap.
It is believed that Wil's departure will come as part of a storyline involving the death of his daughter Gemma, which will unfold in the coming week, according to Daily Star Sunday.
Speaking to the publication, he said, "I've had a wonderful time playing Dom Andrews but, like with most things, you have to know when it's time to leave the building, hopefully on a high note."
He added, "I'm fortunate to be leaving the show off the back of a gripping storyline which I hope the audience will appreciate and have empathy for."
Johnson made his first appearance in Emmerdale in December 2012.
