Stars of Love/Hate and Fair City will be among the Irish actors performing at the third annual 24 Hour Plays, a fundraiser for Dublin Youth Theatre, at the Abbey Theatre on Sunday March 2 at 7.30pm.

Over the course of a day, six playwrights will write six brand new plays that will be cast, directed, rehearsed and performed at the Abbey.

Love/Hate's Laurence Kinlan (Elmo) and Aaron Heffernan (Gavin), Fair City's Aoibheann McCaul (Caoimhe), Michael Sheehan (Dean) and Hilda Fay (Tracy) and Hollyoaks' Jay Duffy (Declan) are among those joining Domhnall Gleeson and many other actors for the performances.

Dublin Youth Theatre Artistic Director Dave Kelly said: "Having recently taken up my position as the Artistic Director of DYT,  I can really understand the significance and importance The 24 Hour Plays are in raising funds for DYT."

Kelly continued: "This event also demonstrates a huge amount of goodwill from the wonderfully talented professional producers, writers, directors and actors from the TV, film and theatre industry as well as the support from the Abbey Theatre, Dublin City Council Arts Office, Dublin Fringe Festival, and The 24 Hour Company in New York."
