Nile Rodgers has announced that he's working on an upcoming 'lost' Chic album.
The legendary producer told Digital Spy at last night's Brit Awards that he recently unearthed material that was originally recorded by the band 30 years ago.
That was at a time when original core members of Chic, Tony Thompson (drums) and Bernard Edwards (bass) were both still alive.
"I'm doing a new Chic album now," he said. "When I was working on my solo album and David Bowie's solo album back in 1983, I was cutting demos with my old band.
"I like to affectionately call it the 'Lost Chic Tapes' because they just disappeared until recently. I've already written hooks to five of the songs. They're so amazing."
Rodgers and his frequent collaborator Pharrell Williams appeared together at the Brit Awards to perform a medley of Happy and Get Lucky.
The 61-year-old also accepted the International Group Award on behalf of Daft Punk.
