Legendary songwriter Burt Bacharach has been announced as a headline act for this summer’s UK Wilderness festival.
The 85-year-old singer and songwriter will join Metronomy and London Grammar at the top of a bill that also includes Jess Ware, Connan Mockasin, Mount Kimbie and Sam Smith.
Bacharach is the latest in a line of music veterans who have headlined UK festivals in recent years, including The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Iron Maiden and Bruce Springsteen.
“I'm thrilled to be coming back to the UK again to perform at Wilderness 2014,” Bacharach said in a statement. “I've heard wonderful things about the festival and I'm looking forward to a great time in the Oxfordshire countryside.”
In a career spanning more than 50 years, Bacharach has co-written many classic hit songs including The Look of Love, Walk on By, I Say a Little Prayer and Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head.
