Bruce Dern says he doesn't feel famous despite being nominated for a Best Actor award at this year's Oscars for his role in Nebraska.
The 77-year-old star, who is up for his first Oscar nomination since his appearance in 1978 Vietman war drama Coming Home, insists that fame hasn't changed him.
Speaking to People magazine, Bruce said: ''I still don't know I'm famous. I'm waiting for the phone to ring now!''
However, Dern did admit that he started his career "at the top" saying: ''My first job in Hollywood was an Elia Kazan movie called Wild River, starring Lee Remick and Montgomery Clift, in the fall of 1959. Luckily, I started at the top.''
Dern explained the key to his success: ''Key to my performance is the ability to expose your heart to an audience and dare to risk every single take."
